It would be like being a hunter gatherer, or even driving on the road, with lots of bright flashes everywhere.
We are visual, so noise on that signal would be like blinding light

Marine animals use sound to navigate and find food, and communicate too... but people are noisy, and sound will travel farther.

    Thanks for spreading the word about this latest threat to life in our oceans. It's true that the oceans have become very noisy and the constant cacophony of human-injected noise is jeopardizing life in the ocean as we know it. Imagine whales straining to hear the call of a mate, or fish listening for the alarming sounds of an approaching predator through the persistent freight-train-like drone of 90,000 super tankers and cargo ships rushing to ports around the world.
