there hermite polynomials to be dervived from the original recursive formulas, and integrated both ways to infinity
and many other things i can't remember

the test in on the wire
i hope i pass

i am proud b/c i learnt so much, andrew holding my hand all the way.

now to cram for the next one. ai ya!
  • ahhhhh

screw chem.... I use to want to take just enough chem to learn how to make good safe lsd... don't worry don't have that desire any more ;)

My grandfather was a chemist though, a good one I guess :) That table thing in science is what killed it for me...HATED IT never could memorize the chart, not the way it was presented. I do ok in bio and the like though...who knows, maybe it was just the teachers....
    • Re: ahhhhh

They made you memorize the periodic table!!!! That's insane!
I only know bits of it b/c the same bits keep coming up....
      • Re: ahhhhh

just the little one it's not that big...all the stuff like H2O....how cna you do chem if you don't know the table? :-/ Each grade they did that...we studied it in parts or chunks, maybe they broke it up into metals etc? I don't know doesn't that chart have different color catagories hahaha I HATED THAT &*^%$ ING THING!!!
        • You must have been deprived of the demos...

Oh no! It must have been taught badly.
There are so many cool demos that it was worth while to do the basic periodic stuff over and over again. Like burning magnesium metal, or putting sodium in water and watching the sodium catch fire. It becomes a flame zipping around the surface of water on a trail of bubbles...
I don't know the periodic table, I just know how to use it... prob because no teacher ever asked us to memorize the noble gases etc.
One demo I want to be able to do at home is the methanol tornado: you get an empty canadian springs water cooler water tank, put methanol in it, cover the opening with your hand and swirl in a clockwise direction, then with a special candle lighter, light the gas on fire, and watch the swirling blue light show. ^_^
          Whee! Demos ^_^
          • Re: You must have been deprived of the demos...

I was deprived of demos and what we did have used hydrochloric acid gee I don't know why I never got that deep into it hahaha. Oh, I also have an aversion to natural gas..the kind people use for like BUNSON BURNERS!!! I hated the science room for the simple fact it had gas knobs on each desk! AND YES SOMETIMES THEY WERE ON!!!

I had a cool science teacher in 7th grade...he was sorta interesting...but he was bound by public school requirements that limited his ability to be creative... he tried...he was cool... he just wasn't "the bomb". He did teach us the importance of putting sun block on your bald head (he always did in class), drinking your medimusal every day to stay regular, also done in class, and when he taught us about the bones of the human body he showed us the hawaian girl on his wrist he got in or after Nam and made her dance.... yes she had a top and a bottom on...

oh, once we made a stink bomb...that's the only demo I remember...he did others, we had labs but the stink bomb is what sticks out...boy did that smell...he lead us through the halls with it and he agreed when we said we should put it in the principles office...and he took us that way....we thought he was going to do it but instead he just walked in the office with us and held it while he talked to the staff and they made yucky faces...still funny... I think he got in trouble :(

um that tornado thing sounds sorta cool but I also have an aversion to fire demos of any type... although I will pass that on to another LJ friend I have who is trying to get firefighters to come over and bend over, nice butts they have... hahaha she might be able to use this hahaha

my idea of demo is chewing a lifesaver in the dark with your mouth open hahaha, disection was interesting...so was this science demo we had about color at dusk and diff. things like that...

It hurt MY head... in the post exam phase... I can barely read!
I was down at the dock yesterday, trying to read a info thing about boats (yawns, ketches, sloops,) and it didn't make sense!
