I will chew my food more.
Let's see how it goes. I think it's simple enough.
I went to the Nickle Musuem at the U of C this afternoon. They have an exhibit of Sican tomb artifacts. Gold. Gold. Gold.
Dangles and and jewlery galore.
Anyways, the Sicans are a pre Incan culture from northern Peru, credited with bringing forth the bronze age to Peru. Many artifacts previously attributed to the Inca are now thought to be Sican. I find it sad and astonishing that I had never heard of them before. I did an extensive project covering all aspects of peruvian ancient culture in grade 6, and it was all Inca, but no Sican. This, is unfortunately, because most of their remains have been looted, the non valuables thrashed. In fact, the only reason this dig was preserved was beccause the area was flooded by el nino before the looters could grab it. They came within a ruler length (30 cm) of the tomb. The guy in charge had to wait a long time (like a decade but less) for the water table to drop. It was a 25 year long dig.
Maybe more later on what stuff looked like.
