Lol, I didn't think of it as a shasta daisy, but just as a daisy. I used to run and jump over my mom's bed of shastas when I was younger.
I want to make cristemo a blanket because he's hard to shop for. I can sort of crochet. I made andrew a stuffed dragon, and I can make granny squares. The stuffed dragon was just single stitch forced into a tube shape, then I made some wing like shapes. Later, he stuffed it and added pipe cleaner reinforcements. It sounds better than it looks.
I've gotten to the point were I'm ansy from the rest, and my hands NEED to do something.
I want to make my mom the flower blanket that was blue and teal (but in other colours).
I want to make cristemo a blanket with a few yellow flowers (think shasta in yellow) and a few moths on an earth tone back ground.
I'm not good at working with yellow and brown though. I tend to be anti-brown in my art.
I need to learn how to read patterns if I want to do these.
my oma doesn't crochet. my great grandmother was a super whiz at it though.
sigh, i found a really great stitch called "ducal coronet", it looks like little crowns, but after fighting and winning row 1, row 2 just made now sense at all. So I found a different stitch.
i wanted to hammer it out while I'm still in calgary because there isn't much to do. I could watch Horatio Hornblower and crochet. But I can't get to a store until the 1rst or 2nd and I leave on the 3rd anyways.
