We're all wankers.

We're all wankers.

Talk is weak.  I got a vision of ego-boosting intellectual wanking going on, drunk and sober in basments across the nation.  Who are we to think we know anything, especially if we aren't doing anything about it!!

We are the sludge that manifests our own hell of living disappointment.  The masses, tossing snide comments, cliches about the downfall of this or that good in our society, sarcastically feeling superior for forecasting the disappointing turn in this or that issue, are manifesting the mediocher (sp?) failures through the generation of vast supplies of apathy.

STOP WANKING ALREADY.  Get off the soap box, get a clue by four and a PLAN.  Or maybe just masturbate more and talk less.

*off the soap box, back to being anti-social*
  • Sorry all I got out of that post is that masturbating during or sober in your basement is a bad thing.
    • *head desk* by wanking I meant intellectual masturbating. Where people talk as if they are all smart, and pass off cliches, and have strong opinions, all to boost their ego, and not for actually trying to make a difference in the world.
  • *drunk or sober
  • Putting opinions into action requires time and effort while verbally expressing them is easy. Also, putting an opinion into action tends to cause its flaws and weaknesses to become very visible as theory is tested against reality in that trial we call 'practice.' It's much more difficult to criticize an idea that has not been tested, and that gives the proponents of such ideas more confidence to keep on promoting them.

Not everyone who forecasts bad events based on current trends feels superior for doing so. Personally I just want to have some idea of what to expect in the future so I can plan accordingly. As for apathy, it tends to be a by-product of having little time and of feeling powerless. Having strong ideals and then becoming disillusioned tends to generate it as well.
